What If Humans Suddenly Disappeared?

Humans have shaped the world like nobody has ever did.

From building roads to cutting trees, it’s all because of us.

Without us, we might still be in the ice age, or some other organism might’ve taken our place.

But what would happen if we suddenly disappeared, like right now?

Initial Chaos

With us there’s chaos. Without us there’s even more.

The first few days after we disappear would be chaotic and bring huge changes to the world.

Without humans to feed them, zoo animals would break their enclosures and roam around freely in search of food.

Hungry Gorillas are not very happy.

Domestic animals like chickens and pigs would also do the same looking for food.

But many of them, pampered by humans, would become prey to dogs, hyenas and other wild animals.

Population of waste eating organisms like cockroaches and rats would plummet. Without us and our trash, their food sources would run out and surviving would be much more difficult than before for the little creatures.

Bye, bye dear ratties!

Wooden structures would burn to the ground by a single lightning strike.

We will not be there to control forest fires too, so once a forest fire starts, there would be little stopping it.

Nobody can drag me down!

Fiery chaos would be everywhere. Destruction and desolation would be the prime scenery as nature tries to fix all we’ve done wrong.

After Some Time

We’re now gone for quite some time, and our steel structures have rusted badly, many huge bridges have fallen as the rusted supports of the bridge can no longer hold its weight.

All our shiny, fancy steel stuff is now covered with brown rust.

Brown, brown, everywhere!

Vines and creepers have also started growing around the remnant structures, and it’s all green around the place.

Such green, much wow.

Out of all the Zoo Animals that escaped before, some have been eaten, and some have survived.

And the survivors have made the world quite an interesting place.

Because many animals are found in zoos despite of the regional habitat of the animal, the zoo animals would make the world quite different than what we know of right now.

Kangaroos in USA, Camels in Russia, maybe even Pandas in India! Who knows?

This will result to quite a weird combination of creatures in different areas.

Because the food chain is now highly affected by our absence, it’s all bonkers now.

It’s survival of the fittest.

Also, because we’re not here to harm the natural habitat of animals, population of endangered species will soon rise again and they would reach their older population levels.

It’s also a matter of chance that some species go extinct with time because they can’t cope with their new predators.

But this is only a matter of chance as there is no surety of what could happen.

In addition, all our plastic will still be hanging around. Because it’s not biodegradable, it will pose problems for animals who would try to inhale it as food.

After A Long Time

It’s been long since we’re gone, and there’s green everywhere.

Everywhere.

Creepers, crawlers, and general plants are growing all over the place and there’s a lot of greenery around.

Because of so much growth, it’s possible that there become even more species of plants.

And the animals have become weird.

Wildlife got unevenly distributed around the planet, there’s different animal species everywhere.

Why?

Because animals are now out of their older habitats and dropped into newer ones, they’ve adapted with their surroundings and it’s resulted in variations.

New species have formed, and there are even more animals than before.

Nature is restoring balance, but another disaster awaits.

With the uncontrollable population of plants and no huge considerable sources of carbon dioxide, oxygen levels would skyrocket.

Although oxygen is the life gas, overdose of anything is not good.

Too much of oxygen might cause extensive global cooling.

And not the kind we currently desire.

Too much of global cooling might result in another Ice Age.

You read it correct, Ice Age.

Something To Think

We now know that us disappearing will be disastrous, and the world will be hugely affected by our absence.

But there’s a thing in all of this that we should notice.

The world needs us.

Because we broke it.

We have done so much to Earth that if we go away now, it will go nuts.

It’s become all about us.

All that we do now is to enhance our lives and our luxury.

We have made so much stuff to simplify our lives that we’ve made it complicated for nature.

But in the end, times change, world changes, and maybe this is one of those changes.

Maybe humans exploiting Earth is a change meant to be.

Whatever it is, it’s an interesting one, and I hope it’s all for the good.
